Greeting of President of the Republic of Finland
The 5th international miniature graphics triennial, Miniprint Finland 2004, to be held at the Lahti Art Museum is an example how something minimal can become maximal, personal general and local global. Printmaking is already an old technique, but it is an important and interesting part of the history of modernity. A form of reproduction and communication became an art in the hands of masters.
In conjunction with the triennial there is a competition in which there will be awarded a Grand Prix, Commendatory Awards and Honorary Mentions. At the 'Art Brewery' in the old factory building of Mallasjuorna we can also see works from the old winners of the triennial.
I have been granted the joy and honour of being Patron of Miniprint Finland 2004. My wishes are for the greatest success for the exhibition, Lahti Art Museum and above all for the participating artists.
