Co-operating with
6th International Miniprint Finland 2007, miniature graphics triennial to be held from 16 November 2007 to 3 February 2008 at the Lahti Art Museum. The Honourable Patron of the event is the President of Finland, Mrs. Tarja Halonen.
Miniprint Finland will be organized for the 6th time. It is an exceptionally comprehensive and notable graphic arts presentation both nationally and internationally. It has established its position among miniature graphic art exhibitions.
The Graphic Artist Association has been responsible for the arrangements of Miniprint Finland since the very beginning in 1992. Lahti Art Museum joined as partner in 1998. The main financial supporters of the event are the Finnish Ministry of Education, the Alfred Kordelin Foundation and the Association of Kauno.
The exhibition opening takes place on 15 November 2007 at the Lahti Art Museum. The winners of Grand Prix (3000 euros) and two Commendatory Awards (1500 euros each) will be announced in the opening ceremony.
This year there was no theme and only the size of the prints was restricted (17 cm x 20 cm at the most). As many as 647 artists from 52 countries sent 2292 prints and the international jury selected 326 prints from 149 artists and 32 countries to be exhibited. Many prints arrived from Finland, Germany, Japan, USA and Poland.
The 4-colour exhibition catalogue of the Miniprint Finland 2007 triennial contains about 200 pages, presenting the artists and their works in the exhibition. Similar catalogues published of the Miniprint Finland 2001 and 2004 are also available.
